Enforcement and Protective Services
Enforcement and Protective Services (EPS), or Protective Services as we are commonly referred to, is the District department that deals with matters affecting public safety and compliance of laws and bylaws within the municipality. Officers work closely with the two RCMP detachments that serve Lakeland as well as other law enforcement agencies. EPS provides service to the municipality in primarily non-criminal code enforcement. Our focus is established by our Board. The Department priorities typically include focus on public safety the enforcement of traffic offences, unsightly and nuisance property, parking and storage violations and visibility and community enforcement initiatives. The Department is led by a full time sworn Peace Officer pursuant to The Police Act, 1990. The Department has additional staffing to compliment the department’s ability to attend to public concerns.
